All our products are made from recycled "post consumer PET bottles" and are therefore more sustainable materials. We believe that making new from old is better!
PET bottles cannot be naturally degraded. In Switzerland, 100% of these are processed into new PET bottles. In the Far East, the bottles are processed into yarn, among other things, in the recycling process. This gives PET bottles a second life. That's why we decided to do the production there to extend the life cycle of the raw materials.
- WILI WILI TREE® products are made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET fabric. This means that these are actually collected PET bottles, which are processed into flakes and then into yarn and then into fabric.
- DOPE DYED - The yarn is already dyed before weaving - the dope dyeing process uses 86% less CO2, 98% less water and 83% less energy than conventional dyeing processes do (more on this below in the article).
- Tough, durable and waterproof. Due to the internal coating, our products feel like RAW denim on the outside, are of high quality and easy to wash off.
- Recycling Standard: Manufactured to BSCI & GRS (Global Recycling) standards.
- Our fabric manufacturer is also certified with ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 45001 for occupational safety, ISO 14001 for environmental management.
Our products are currently manufactured in China. We know our fabric manufacturer and the bag producer personally and maintain a close working relationship. For sustainability reasons, we want to keep distances short and have everything within a 200km radius. Therefore, we are currently pursuing this strategy.
We strive to produce our products closer to home in the future and are actively seeking suppliers and producers in Europe. However, since the raw material still comes too often from the Far East, it doesn't make sense to ship the raw material to Europe, then process it, and then ship it to Switzerland. More on this in the near future.
